    Spiders in The Bath...

It's been a nightmare getting onto MSN lately, it won't load properly, my emails are hit and miss, I have no idea how I've managed to answer some of them. Which is why comments and blogs are few and far between.
Bump is coming along nicely, people keep telling me it's coming early but I'm not so sure myself. We'll just have to wait and see. Reading the cards yesterday only told me it would be a Thursday (?) and to be patient. I can't wait to see if my reading was right though!
I really needed to go in the shower this morning, but there was a HUGE spider lying in wait for me. I refused to go anywhere near it until I could find the cat to sort it out. And it had to be the one morning where the cat was missing...
I had to see the ponies before anything could be done about the 8-legged beast, but eventually Mehitabel reappeared and disposed of it for me. She didn't need her breakfast this morning... I did have to complain when she grabbed it and leapt out of the bath though, with it still struggling in her mouth. She just wanted to make it run around the bathroom while she batted at it with her paws! My apologies to any spider lovers out there, I just couldn't deal with it myself!
Tomorrow we are supposed to be going for a family outing, but the weather isn't looking too good at the moment. Might have to be a change of plans, although I'm sure we can manage to organise something between us.
Right, I wonder if this is going to post, or if I have to start tearing my hair out again?

    Poor Hubs...

After a very sleepless night last night (too hot and stench of weed drifting from neighbour's house) the Hubs was dispatched to take water to the field at around 7.20am.
Off he dashed, and sorted out the hay while he was up there too, saving me a job this morning.
Busy day at work, during which he called me to say he's forgotten his wallet and could I please bring him either some money or some dinner please? Bless him!
Once home he immediately set to work to fix the washing machine, once more flooding the kitchen in the process. It's actually quite amazing what you can find in a washing machine filter; 34 pence, an anklet that a certain small girl had put in a pocket, two washers and a drill bit. And plenty of dog and horse hair. That done it was back up to the field to give the ponies more water; these big beasts drink a lot anyway, without it being so hot.
He's worn out, too hot and hasn't even managed to stop for a shower yet.
And to add insult to injury he wants to know why he isn't in my album 'one for the ladies'. I pointed out that he wont let me take a picture of him, but he doesn't want putting somewhere between Leland Chapman and David Tennant!
Poor man, he'll be asleep before it goes dark tonight!

    Too Hot

Baby has moved and is giving me grief. On the plus side, my stomach looks slightly flatter because of the position baby is now in but on the down side everything hurts!
The children think it's great to poke at my belly to see if it will move and have started asking every day when it is coming out. And how. Go on, answer that one, Mum!
A friend has been out on Winston; when I met her at the field this morning she looked me up and down with a critical eye and said "Hmmm, that baby is due. It's coming early!".
    Yay!
We managed an enjoyable afternoon yesterday, taking the children to their cousin's house and having a wander down to the park. We sat on the bank of a tiny stream while the children paddles together and played in the playground. They were enthralled by the butterfly that kept landing on me and were trying everything to get it to land on them. Everything, that is, except standing still...
Today has been too hot again, but I am feeling slightly better having seen my mother in law because she has packed my hospital bag for me and everything seems to be coming together now. The children have been smothered in suncream again and out playing in the paddling pool. They don't believe in clothes in this weather and I can't say I blame them! Louis has a tan that people would pay a fortune for and his white-blonde hair is even brighter than usual. Hannah takes after her Dad, poor thing, and just glows red when she gets hot!
Baby is getting a bit annoyed now, Braxton Hicks contraction are starting to feel suspiciously strong. And there's been quite a few of them this evening, might have to start timing these!
Right, I'm off to feed the dog, and see if I can actually get any rest. Wish me luck...
Oh, and by the way, I'm still open to suggestions on my 'One for the Ladies' album. Except for you Jayne, that would just be greedy!

    What A Day!

And it's not even dinner time!
Serves me right for having a lie in I suppose.
Up at 9 (yes, 9am!), kids dressed, fed and watered, then stuck outside with strict instructions to play. While they were arguing over the pushchairs and paddling pool I filled the water barrel for the ponies, mixed feeds and emptied the van of all the useless things a mechanic collects in his vehicle!
By this time Louis had once again removed all his clothes and Hannah had parked her bike on the side of the paddling pool so it would empty.
Ferrets had to be fed, washing hung out and an attempt at vacuuming (bearing in mind that the vac blew up yesterday because of the heat).
The front door then needed fixing as the handle was about to fall off.
Momma and Jim arrived to take feeds and water to the field and pick up some more hay (hence me having the van instead of my car). The van is awkward because the original key is worn, and has a technique to starting it. Which no-one but the Hubs has mastered.
Meanwhile, I discovered that my saddle cloths that go with the western saddles had been chucked in the garage (thats right, the garage with the leaky roof) and were not looking in the best of condition. I was furious, and after shaking them threw them in the washing machine. Which promptly flooded.
In the middle of mopping the kitchen floor Momma and Jim made it back from the field to inform me that we had been reported again and were to phone the RSPCA. Again.
I don't know what to do, I'm doing the best I can. I've just about had enough now.
Momma is phoning them this time, I wonder if she gets any more joy than I have had?
Oh, and THAT electrical shop, which promised to send me the £60 cheque for the camera are claiming that I did not return the vouchers and are refusing to pay up. Don't say a word about recorded delivery...
And now I have just had a phone call to say that the man who gave me my first job, 'Mr Keith', has passed away this morning.
My thoughts are with his friends and family. He will never be forgotten.

    One For The Ladies

I thought it was about time my photo album had some talent in it, so I have been trawling the web for pictures for you lot to drool over. These guys are not all to my taste, but hey, you so would, wouldn't you?
Feel free to send requests, and I will try to find the pictures.
    Have fun perusing the album!

    Yesterda

Yesterday was not such a good day. After seeing the ponies in the morning I just felt as though I wante dto lie down and go back to sleep. I got nothing done in the house, and my hips were aching like mad. So much so that I looked like Kryten whenever I tried to walk anywhere.
I still managed to keep the children entertained and we had words about their Sleep-Chart. I explained again that Sleep = Smiley Faces on the chart = Days Out.
This time they seemed to understand. So, two more sleeps, complete with smiley faces, and they can see their cousins. After a brief discussion in which they decided they would each like a new Polly Pocket (already purchased and hidden in a cupboard) they agreed five smiley faces would be a fair amount to earn them the reward.
At bedtime I reminded tham of their promises, and they both dropped off to sleep with no problems, even letting me have a bath in peace!
When the Hubs got home from work I asked him to take some water up to the ponies while I finished cooking his tea. On his return he told me he had met someone that suggested the ponies were thin and did we want to sell them to her? Not only that, but someone had put out a load of hay for them. I know, it won't hurt, its only the hay that the Hubs would have put out anyway, but my field is private property and that was at least a whole bail that was put out. Which now means I am going to have to get some more this weekend, and the farmer is away on weekends over summer.
It was just a bad end to a bad day, and I felt like sitting down and crying. Again. I think my hormone levels have increased lately, and eight weeks until my due date is seeming very far away indeed.
Oh well, all being well I'm off out with Momma tonight, hope the children go to sleep for Daddy later!

    Helpful Advice, Or A Monopoly?

I called into Mothercare yesterday, just for a browse really as I had been to a shop nearby (and Mothercare is always useful for toilets Open-mouthed).
There is a highchair that I have been looking at, I bought one for Hannah and it did her and Louis, with only one part replaced when the Hubs thought he could use it to stand on! It is a pine chair that separates into a table and chair for toddlers and is only £50. However, only £50 is a lot when you don't have it to spare. So as usual I just looked at it, browsed around and left the shop, grabbing the Autumn/Winter catalogue on my way out. (I know, Autumn/Winter already!).
On my travels to various other places in the course of the day, I passed a little nursery shop that I have used several times in the past. They stock new and used items, but always in good condition and always cheaper that elsewhere. As I drove past I saw the chair! It was marked up at £25 so I pulled in and went to have a look. There it was, brand new, all the bits there, for half the price it should be. Well, what could I do? I told the lady in the shop not to sell it while I dashed off to the nearest cash machine. While I was gone she chose a seat insert for me and said she would chuck it in as I was buying the chair.
It got me thinking about how much we spend on baby things, and how shops can charge what they do. The chair and seat insert in Mothercare would have come to around £65, and they were exactly the same items.
As I flicked through the Mothercare catalogue yesterday evening, I came across a 'helpful list of all the things you might need' as compiled by Mothercare themselves. So the Hubs and I decided to figure out how much it would cost to follow their suggestions. We added up using the lower priced items in the catalogue and chose only one pushchair and a car seat instead of the pushchair, car seat, pram and carrycot that were suggested.
The total added up to somewhere in the region of £1300.
This is just for the things a new baby might need immediately, not any weaning items, teethers or toys.
Going through the list I found that I have less than half the items suggested, but I know (having already had two children) that I have all that I need.
And I certainly didn't pay those prices for it all!

    Just a Note...

Just to point out that my previous blog was in memory of Hannah's Godfather who passed away on this date 3 years ago, after a long fight with cancer.
He was in no way a horse, or pony, but the song I posted was played at his funeral!
Thanks for your comments anyway guys, I maybe should have explained it before I posted it! Open-mouthed

    For Lance

There's a bridle hanging on the wall.
There's a saddle in that empty stall.
You ask me why the teardrops fall.
It's that bridle hanging on the wall.

There's a horse shoe nailed above the door.
It's the shoe that my old pony wore.
A faded blanket in the hall.
And his bridle hanging on the wall.

With that pony for my guide.
I used to ride down a trail.
    Watching the blooms swing low.
    But now that faithful friend.
Has found the end of the trail.
He's gone where all the good ponies go-

And his bridle's hanging on the wall.
And his saddle's in the empty stall.
No more he'll answer to my call.
For his bridle's hanging on the wall.

And his bridle's hanging on the wall.
And his saddle's in an empty stall.
No more he'll answer to my call.
For his bridle's hanging on the wall.

(Well, I know you folks think I'm crazy, but I don't care what you say.
If you'd ever had a pal like him, you'd know why I'm grievin' this way.
Well, we rambled the prairie together for over seventeen years.
A man never had a more faithful friend. Oh, I'm--I'm not ashamed of my tears.
A faithful friend? Say, listen: He woke me up one night
When he heard a noise on the prairie. He knew what it was all right:
A stampede headin' right towards us, and he saw what he had to do.
But he run till he dropped, and he saved my life. I call that a friend. Don't you?)

    Jasper's Mad 5 Minutes!

Jasper having a mad few minutes. He really enjoys this game but knows not to go too far. Sorry about the background noise, the Dog Whisperer was on the television!

    Just the Usual

I sat here last night with all intentions of writing a blog, but I'm afraid tiredness overcame me so I had a hot chocolate and went to bed instead!
I realised I'm not adding that much, even comments on your blogs, but I am still around, and still reading, sympathising and laughing with you all.

Hannah is on holiday now, and seems to have turned into a monster overnight. She is doing little naughty things and blaming Louis.Neither child is sleeping properly, to the point where I have to sit upstairs with their bedroom door open (so they know I can hear them) until they go to sleep.
I am making a list of Holiday Things To Do, with the rule that Sleep = Smiley Faces on Sleep Chart = Days Out!
The problem is finding bad weather things to do. Must be lots of things, I just need time to think!

Winston has been ridden by a friend, and is having great fun playing her up because she doesn't know him. As my step-dad says, Winston is a 'One-bum-pony'! Not entirely sure how true that is, but he certainly likes trying all his tricks out on unsuspecting new riders.

Istnofret, poor girl, now has a damp bed after the torrential downpour that apparently occured while I was asleep the other night. Which means I have to change ehr bedding, even this close to the birth. I will find her something more suitable or more covered to sleep in, as at the moment she has her nest in a stack of old tyres. They make perfect ferret beds, complete with storage areas for food!

Jasper decided to play his favorite game last night; I will post the video if I can figure out how to do it! Jasper hasn't played like that for a long time, he is very sensitive and when we have older dogs in the house he calms down his boisterous activites. I was surprised that he chose me to play the game with because he has been so careful about looking after me lately. I came out covered in bruises as usual, which will please the midwife. At least Jasper is very well behaved, and even in the middle of a leap at me will stop on command.

Computer says NO! It keeps telling me I am running out of disk space and should delete things that I don't use anymore. I have deleted as much as I can, and am now in the middle of burning several thousand photos to disk but the message keeps popping up. I don't think I believe it anymore!

Right, young man is still not dressed, ponies have to be seen, ferret beds need sorting. Birthday cards need making, sleep charts need drawing up and washing needs folding. Just the usual today then!

    Better Now...

Sorry for worrying you all yesterday with my deleted blog, really, I must be spending too much time on Tigr's space!
Thank you to all of my friends that sent me messages, it made me feel much better.
Yesterday was difficult, it was a very emotional day (too many hormones) and to add to that baby decided to get some practise in, in the form of Braxton Hicks contractions. Not just one or two, it felt that it needed more practise than that and gave me nine Braxton Hicks in a row. The Hubs was looking for the hospital phone number, and I was trying to remind myself how to breathe! I suppose that's what I get for letting Bump get poked around by consultnts and midwives two days in a row.
Winston had a funny day yesterday. I got to the field yesterday morning to find him shivering and hunching himself up, but I know that Win has at lest one day a year like this. I sent Momma and the Highlander up to sort him out with a towel and a rug, but he wouldn't play the game. Instead he got himself warmed up by running around the field trying to stay away from them.
He feels much better today and is back to his usual cheeky self. In fact, he seemed to find it highly entertaining to nudge my behind and try to knock me in the hay bin!
Jasper seems worried, but I remember him getting like this in my other pregnancies. He has taken to staying right by my side and following me up to bed so he can keep an eye on me. I know that I have this for the next 9 weeks or so until baby decides to make an appearance.
Istnofret has about two more weeks to go before her kits are due. She is doing well and the swelling in her feet has gone down. I noticed today that she has started pulling her hair out again to line her nest, which means that now I can't give her fresh hay. Oh well, they always prefer it to smell of their own scent and I suppose that will be better for the kits when they arrive. I'll have to stock up on treats for Istnofret for afer the birth. My original female, Jemima (great-grandmother to Istnofret) used to like fromage frais or plain yoghurt and cream cheese to build her strength and help with her milk supply. My animals are way too spoilt!
    July 16

    Learning Curve

Well, that's the hospital visit over with. I was given information that should have been available from my midwife, but it took an appointment with my consultant before I could get the answers to my questions.
    What I found is this:
    1. I do not have to be put on a drip to get the antibiotics I need.
    2. I do (unfortunately) have to go into hospital as soon as contractions start.
    3. There is no reason I cannot be mobile and wandering the hospital while in labour.
    4. There is no reason I cannot use the birthing pool, as long as it is available.
    5. I can pretty much have the birth that I want, with the pain relief I choose.
    6. My midwife is useless. Which I already knew.
    7. I can return to see my consultant any time I want if I have any more concerns.

So there it is. I travelled through rush hour traffic, again, to get there early enough to park, and then spent 10 minutes finding out things that my midwife should have told me in the first place. But I do feel better now.

Hannah has now finished nursery, as there is 'industrial action' this week which means nursery is closed for her last two days. I got her nursery record, which is the equivalent of a school report. I was surprised at some of the things written, as I know she could do most of the things well before the dates given by her teachers. For example, they suggest that she began writing her name unaided just last month, but I know she put her name on all her Christmas cards last December. There was also the counting thing again, which I have been discussing with them. She could count to ten before she began nursery, but her report says she mastered this well into her second term. I suppose the difference in home and school situations will bring different reactions from her.
She has been practising her writing today, she is so determined to get it right. I tried to tell her she had done enough but she wasn't happy until she was getting it right every time. She can now write her own name, Louis' name and write the characters from 1-5. I am very pleased with what she has achieved.

Louis has been admiring the baby's room, and has managed to translate "Don't come in here and don't touch the wet paint" into "Come here! Put your hand on this!". It's a toddler thing...
He was trying to explain to me about a plant the other day, as we walked up from the field. I had been telling him it was not a nettle, and he was very proud that he remembered. He kept telling me it was a booshie, and try as I might, I couldn't figure out what he meant. Finally, he reached out for some leaves and explained patiently "Look, it doesn't hurt, it's a booshie". "No Louis", says I, "It's not a Bougie, its a bramble!". He knew that one of Momma's cats had been named after the plant, he just couldn't remember which one it was!
    July 13

    Sunday, Bl**dy Sunday!

Sunday's are my Thornberry days, but I still managed a lie in. Well, 8am is definitely much later then I usually get up!
The children misbehaved last night, and as a result were very tired, hence my lie in. They got up at around 8.15, so I fed them, dressed them and ordered them not get dirty while I was out. Then I had to get the hubs up and head off, leaving the children in his, uh-hmm, capable hands!
I only had one dog to groom and as I am much like a spare part now when it comes to scrubbing kennels I left earlier than usual at 12.15pm.
I returned to find Hannah relatively unscathed but with Daddy's promise that she could wear her new school socks, which I had repeatedly told her she couldn't wear. Typical.
Louis, on the other hand, had not followed instructions. He informed me that the marks on his once clean trousers were paint. WHAT???!!! No, says Daddy, he hasn't been anywhere near the paint, it's yoghurt. Not so bad then.
However, both children were eating bowls of ketchup that once contained hot dogs, so faces needed scrubbing and Louis' T shirt wasn't going to make it through the day.
Once scrubbed up, it was time to visit Nan Nan and apologise for not making it over on her birthday a couple of days ago. I think she forgave us. I hope so, because that hand crafted card took me ages!
So tonight I had hoped the children would be tired enough to go to bed and go to sleep. They had other ideas. They even used the top bunk to reach the light fitting and unscrew it, then denied all knowledge! I patiently (loudly) explained that as it was in their bed and they were the only two in the room I knew it was them. After lots of shouting and the threat of no nursery tomorrow, I eventually sat outside their door until they settled. I can't cope with this every night, toys are going to start being taken away for bad behaviour.
Anyway, the evening rounded off nicely with a visit to Ronnie's Picture House to watch Stargate Continuum and enjoy some peace.
Now my bed is calling, but first I need to check on Istnofret, who has moved into her hutch and is not a happy little creature. She has already spent so long trying to get out that both her front feet are sore and swollen. I hope she settles, but it might just take some thinking 'outside the box'. The Hubs has promised an outdoor run to compliment the huge hutch they all share, but he has little spare time to do it in.

    Thank You

Thanks to everyone for your kind comments, you must have read past the first warning!
I did mange to get some sleep last night, and feel a lot better for it. Maybe it would be an idea not to let the dog and the cat sleep on my feet...
As regards a trailer for the hay, great idea but unfortunately, I would have to upgrade my driving licence to be allowed to drive with one! I believe this involves taking another test, and I don't think that's going to happen! Also, we did look at some the other day, and found that we could fit more bales in the car, complete with kids and junk, than we could in a trailer. Oh well.
Right, I'm off to do some more painting in the nursery; don't worry, I'm taking it easy, it's only a small room and this is the fourth day I have spent on it so far! Later I'll have to go and get some more paint as I am fast running out of the lovely lilac I have chosen. And no, that is not a hint as to the baby's sex, it's just a gorgeous colour! Will post pictures when it's done, but you might be waiting a while!

    Moan

Right, just so that you are forewarned, it's time for a moan. I won't hold it against you if you don't read any further!
Bump has decided it is not good for me to get any sleep. Every time I want to turn over I have to wake up anyway because moving my massive bulk is a major operation. It is generally easier to not go to sleep in the first place.
The children also decided last night was a no go for sleeping. I don't know what brought it on but they messed around and screamed and shrieked until 8.45pm (that's late for them!). This morning, however, it was business as usual. Louis was up by 6.15, and despite my warnings not to start running around the house making lots of noise he did just that. No rest for the wicked.
I am fed up of wearing grubby T shirts and jeans all the time, so made an effort this morning. Still jeans, but nice ones (yes, trendy maternity jeans!) and a nice satin top. Not the best thing to choose when I still had to see the ponies. I even managed to add some make-up and it's amazing what a difference it makes!
Toddler group actually went quite well, most children were bullied or were the bully at some point, but I am proud to say neither of mine became involved in any way. They will not allow themselves to be bullied!
Hannah started moaning almost immediately toddler group was over, beginning with "can we go to Momma's?" followed by "can we go home now?" when we actually got to Momma's!
We took Momma to the field to try a ride on Alfie, but this meant that first I had to change into my grubby T shirt and jeans. My neighbour caught me on the way, and I was stuck for what seemed like hours having to listen about the joys of the latest great-grandchild. Then, typically, the rain started to come down. At least I had my cowboy hat in the car.
Alfie was awkward to tack up, but he hasn't been out for a while. Eventually we got the bridle on, and Momma did a great job of hopping on his back as he is (to us shorties) quite a long way up! He immediatley tensed up and a look of sheer panic came into his eyes. He did much better than I expected though, no circling or bolting off down the road! Momma held onto him well, and then got off. The first part has been achieved, he has allowed his new owner on his back and not dumped her on the floor! It is a huge milestone, and now the rest will follow.
My car is a constant source of stress to me now. I haven't even finished paying for it and it is covered in hay. I bought it so that I could have a nice car to go out in but it has been used as a hay-wagon right from the start. I can't keep vacuuming it out because I am fetching 3 bails of hay every week, and it would be an endless task. The children also insist on taking toys, beakers and spare coats every time we go out, and leaving them all in the car. It is going to end up going the same way as the FLOG, and much as I loved it I was embarrassed to give people lifts in that car.
Right, moan just about over, the end of the month brings the next payment for the car, the tax for the van, a £100 excess for the broken television and now the Hubs wants some new tools for work. And thats all without the usual bills. No wonder I'm not sleeping...
Will try to bring good news this weekend, I will go out hunting for it if I have to!

    Tigr

I wanted to say goodbye to Tigr, just in case he is still prowling around spaces.
He has had a problem with someone causing upset, I can't give details because I don't have them myself. What it boils down to is that because of one person, many of us have now lost a good friend; a kind, funny, sensitive friend.
Tigr closed his space today, but I do hope that he reconsiders and pads back to us on his stripey paws.
To whoever caused the upset and made two people close their spaces, I really hope you get what is coming to you.

    Virtual Villagers

I like to try game downloads on my PC. You get an hours' free trial in the hopes that the game is addictive enough to make you buy it when your hour is up.
Very rarely do I get that into a game. Virtual Villagers, however, was different.
This all began some time back, when I first discovered these free downloads. I got the first chapter of Virtual Villagers, and began to raise my tribe. I was distraught when the time ran out and  i had to give them up. Another free download gave me a new village, but the characters were different. Each time the game is started, a new tribe begins it's existence. The characters have their own personalities, likes and dislikes. Some excel at farming whilst others fear the water and make brilliant scientists.
I had to buy the game.
My villagers grew in number form 8 to 90 and along the way they solved puzzles; learning about sustainable food sources and how to build huts to live in. I was thrilled when finally my Golden Child was born, although his knack for making parties while everyone else was intent on burying the dead could get quite annoying.
I waited with baited breath for the next chapter.
Eventually, chapter two was released. The makers of the game had listened to their consumers, and this game had no Golden Child. He just got irritating after a while...
The graphics were improved, the puzzles slightly harder, and this time around the children could collect..well...collectibles. Each collectible went into a group which, when full, would increase the potential population. After that, anything found would add to tech points, which can be spent on improving the villagers lives, or just buying them clothes. Once they had built the clothing hut, of course.
So once again, all tasks completed, and two more villages busy looking after themselves, I waited on the third installment. And waited. The promise was there, they were working on the game. It had to be bigger and better. It had to be harder to complete. The graphics had to be better. It was taking forever!
I signed up to the Last Day Of Work newsletter that would let me know when the game was completed. And finally, I received the email. I could buy the game! Not only that, but because I had the other chapters from their site, I could have it at a discounted rate!
I was overwhelmed by the differences in the third chapter. The villagers had even more pronounced personalities, and now they danced, they waved and even stomped on ants!
The game was definitely worth waiting for, and although I have now completed the puzzles the game still runs on. There are island events which give choices; what to do with the green pearl, make a bracelet or grind up for use in the lab? Stay and watch the shooting stars or run and tell the villagers?
The games run in real time, so when you turn off the computer, your village goes on living. Babies are born, elders die, and crops grow. Once the village is established, you can either sit and play it, waiting for collectibles to appear and sending the children after them, or you can just check in from time to time to make sure the fire is still lit and keeping your little people warm and disease free.
Every morning and every night, I check in on 4 seperate villages, around 343 villagers and two Golden Children.
    I can't wait for chapter 4!

    Lying Cow...

Well, there we are then. Cows lie. I went up to the field this morning with the children and as I was hauling a bail of hay down the path I was admiring the cows. They stood around in groups, protectively nuzzling at their calves. And that's when the rain came down. Not just a bit, it absolutley poured down. And I thought cows were supposed to lie down if it's going to rain? I mean, really, was it just to lull us into a false sense of security?

With the great opening of the skies, Louis started screaming that he was getting wet, until I pointed out that he gets wetter in his paddling pool and the bath. Hannah insisted that we would need the heating on when we got home so she could dry out and warm up. They both decided that the trees made good shelter, and they had a good view of the cows getting wet.

Taggy has come round to visit us, as Momma and the Highlander have ventured down to Santa Pod for the Retro Show. Hope they come back with lots of photos!

The new tent they bought to go with caused much mirth, but if you want the full story click HERE.

    Lots to do

Louis is still sporting his spots, but not scratching as much since I smothered him in calamine lotion! Yesterday afternoon the children had a good splash around in the paddling pool and then a nice cool shower before bed (accompanied by much screaming as usual) so at least he was distracted from scratching himself.
He is still getting tired very early as well, fine in a morning, bit whingey but by mid afternoon the poor boy is exhausted. Which means I am not getting up to see the ponies in the afternoon and the Hubs is having to do it when he gets in.
Today's task has been swapping clothes around again. I threw out another bagful; mine and Hannah's this time. This was so that I could empty the fitted wardrobe in Hannah's room so it can be removed to make way for the VERY pink bunk beds. With the children's help (no, really!) the job was done quite quickly and there was an empty wardrobe sitting looking at me...
So I had to grab a screwdriver, and before I knew it the doors were off, the hanging rail removed and the shelf taken out. I didn't really see the point in removing the drawers as they will just slide out and go to the tip as they are, so now all that is left is the bit that is attached to the wall. Think the Hubs can have that job. It's surprisingly easy, but I wouldn't want the Hubs to feel left out now, would I???
And to all you that are going to worry and/or tell me off, I didn't rush, I didn't do too much, and I didn't lift anything heavy. Baby is still merrily making my life a misery by looking like something out of Alien, lumps and bumps appearing all over my belly and wobbling their way around!
My mother-in-law has been on the phone again with more suggestions of names; she is keeping a list at home but calls me from time to time with ideas. She has been collecting baby things, I have hardly had to buy anything as I had a lot of things left after having Louis, but MIL has bought bottles, nappies, dummies, and even clothes to bring baby home from hospital. She has even offered to pack my hospital bag! Now all I need is the bag, since the Hubs gave it to my brother packed full of Playstation stuff...
Right, odd cravings for KFC, so I'm off to sort the kids and hope the cravings either go away or get fed.
