It's Not Paranoia If They're Really After you...3

    Chemtrails

Have you ever looked up and seen dozens of vapour trails from aeroplanes criss-crossing the sky? And have you ever wondered why some trails fade away within a couple of minutes whilst others spread out into what looks like cirrus clouds?
Some people claim these are tests conducted with the Government's backing, where chemicals, usually for unknown reasons, are sprayed from aircraft over specific areas of land or sea.
Others say they are simply vapour trails aircraft leave behind at certain altitude in certain weather conditions.
Whatever the truth is, it makes you think, doesn't it?

     9/11

There's not much I can say about this one, except there is a growing number of people that believe the American Government either knew about the impending attacks on the famous Twin Towers, or actually organised it themselves.
A huge number of lives were lost, and even more damaged irreperably. I leave you to make up your own minds.

    Offline

I have been offline for a few days because Talk Talk decided to cut me off for not paying my bill. The only problem is, I have not received a bill from them for the past 4 months or so. I had to go through all the automated service, pressing all the buttons, only to be put through to a real person, who asked me all the same questions again. They have no idea why I haven't received any bills, they are sent out by an outside agency.
    But now I am back.
I rode the ponies on Sunday, as the wind dropped for long enough to go out. The poor boys are certainly not in their prime, in fact, I have never seen them look this bad. Winston has lost weight, which is very unusual for him, and Apollo just looked miserable all the way round the ride. I gave them a big feed of sugar beet this morning, and plenty of hay so hopefully they will be feeling a bit better. I am going to go and get them some more feeds and get them back up to weight as soon as possible, or they will not be able to enjoy summer when it finally gets here. The thing with animals, and particularly horses, is that they have to be built back up slowly and gradually, so this is definitely a long term project. But it doesn't matter, I want my boys back up to health.
Over the past couple of weekends we have gutted all the bedrooms. Old clothes have been thrown out, or given to charity, fitted cupboards have been removed, old toys disposed of and the mysteries of the Under Bed World have been vacuumed up.
Hannah is doing well at dressing herself in the morning, except for getting her tops on backwards (including shirts) and shoes on the wrong feet. At least she tries, unlie Louis, who usually just refuses to put any clothes on at all!
Right, it's nearly bedtime (kids, not me) so I'm off to sort out beakers and pajamas.

    Gossip...

Yesterday, as I was opening my upstairs blinds, I noticed a police car in the middle of the road outside next door's house. Now, I know how this must sound, but I wasn't being a curtain twitcher, honest. But I did have to go to the car to get something out...

Anyway, there was the police car and a DVLA van. And there was my neighbour, in her dressing gown, desperately trying to convince the policeman not to clamp her husband's car. But clamped it was, and after the police and DVLA had left, the husband and the rest of the clan turned up in various cars. There was a lot of shouting and swearing, which is nothing new for our neighbours. Apparently "SOMEONE must have grassed him up!". I have no idea what the car was actually clamped for, but I guess that if he had put it on his drive instead of parking on the road he might have had a lot less trouble.

The car was soon unclamped (I didn't notice who did it, or how, I was in the back bedroom by then) and has been moved onto the driveway.

This morning, the police and DVLA were around again; they passed the house twice but didn't stop. However, they did drive round the corner and have a check on Momma's car, as the windscreen was covered to stop it getting too icy and the tax disk was not on display.

Apart from all this, the field and everything in it is still frozen solid, I have to break the ice in the ponies' bath every morning and most evenings. I found some very strange streamers hanging off the trees, and discovered they are actually horse hairs that have frozen and refrozen into interesting shapes. I took some photo's but I don't know if they turned out. I will add them to the album if they have.

The valley is very beautiful at the moment, I am amazed that it can be so white without any snow having fallen.

Right, I am going to wrap the kids up in hats and gloves and go back out to break the ice again!

    Frosty Mornings

There is always something beautiful about frosty mornings; the grass frozen and shimmering, tree branches edged with silver and the mist hanging in the valley with the winter sun blazing down.

However, it can make life a little difficult for me. After admiring my surroundings this morning on my way down to the field, I discovered the ponies water bath had enough ice in it to sink the Titanic. I had to find myself a large stick and wallop the ice until it broke up.

Of course, there is no grass in the field at this time of year, so that means putting hay out at least twice a day. Fortunately, the Hubs has just built a big wooden crate to store the hay at the field so at least I don't have to carry it from home anymore.

I did ask him to check on the boys yesterday, and when he returned I asked if they were OK. He replied that they were fine, and were waiting for hay when he arrived. I asked if he gave them any. No, it wasn't time. I told him they needed hay in a morning as well as the afternoon. Oh. So I asked if they had enough water. Blank look. I dunno. Apparently, because I had only asked him to check the boys, that was what he had done. Walked to the gate, made sure the ponies were in the field and come away again. Typical male.

It's not surprising really, I do recall an occasion when the Hub's mother asked the Hub's father to put the kettle on. So he did. Without checking there was any water in it. Because she hadn't asked him to.

    Like father like son.

    Bougie

Well, Berry reappeared, or rather, Ziggy let me know where she was hiding out. I packed her off home and catnapped the next victim, Bougie.
Unfortunately, Bougie is quite a lot more feisty than Berry, and does not want to be groomed. I am having to do her a bit at a time, in between her eating and going out.
I sent Momma a message last night to say that I couldn't do anything with Bougie and had let her out to go home, but I hadn't been in bed long when a horrible mewling started under my window and Bougie had returned! She slept in the living room, and somehow manged to knock over several things including the cat bed and food. She is quite destructive for a cat.
Anyway, she has since been in and out a few times, and I think she has decided to move back in with us. She lived here for a little while (only a couple of weeks) a couple of Christmases ago, and she hasn't forgotten. The first place she made for was the room she stayed in, and curled herself up under the bed. Now she is sitting on a chair under the dining table, a perfect place to lie in wait for the dogs and hiss at them.
I need to come up with a plan for getting this grooming finished and sending her home. WIsh me luck!

    Missing...

Last night I kidnapped Berry, one of Momma's cats, to bring her home and give her a grooming. Most of the brushing and trimming was done last night, but I decided to keep Berry overnight, give her time to calm down and spruce her up this morning ready for going home.
She kept the Hubs awake last night by walking across his head and trilling (she doesn't purr, she trills) until she got comfortable in the wardrobe. This morning I brought her downstairs, finished off the grooming and let her jump off my lap while I checked my emails. Unfortunately, I did not keep an eye on where she went...
So when it came to letting her out to go home (she only lives around the corner) I couldn't find her. I looked in all the obvious places, all the places she has tucked herself away before and then some of the less obvious places. No sign of Berry.
The kids assure me they did not let her out, but I know that the front window and the back door were both open for some time while I was hanging washing out and Ziggy was sunning himself on the front.
The only thing I can think is that she has wandered home on her own. Momma has not seen her, but it is not unusual to not see the cats sometimes, especially on such a lovely day. I will go and check later, I think.
Maybe she will appear on the Hub's head in the middle of the night...

    Baby Wipes

I had to dash to Asda today, in search of baby wipes. I only buy one pack at a time, as they always disappear if I buy spare packs. I have my favorite type, Asda Smart Price wipes. Only 88p per pack, and they do what baby wipes should do.
Once I reached the baby aisle, 2 children in tow, dodging old geezers and trolleys, I found that there was an offer on so the whole shelving unit had been swapped around. The wipes I wanted were on the top shelf, and would have been just in reach if the box hadn't been empty. Behind it was a full box, but I had no chance of reaching it. Amazingly, I found a shop asssistant willing to climb onto her stool to reach them for me.
"Oooh", she said, "don't they look good now they've been repackaged?". I assured her the quality of the wipes was as good as the new packaging, and I wasn't just choosing the most out of reach wipes to be difficult!
"Well", she said "you know these people make them for us" (pointing at the Johnson's wipes) "and just put them in different wrappers. It doesn't have the brand name, so we can sell them much cheaper".
I was aware that companies did this, but looking at the promotion, I noticed that today I could have bought 4 packs of Johnson's wipes for £5, or 4 packs of Asda Smart Price wipes for £3.52
It amazes me sometimes how much we pay just to have a brand name on our shopping items.

    Outdoors

I had a lovely time yesterday with the children. The sun was shining and when the wind dropped it was really quite warm. I picked Hannah up from nursery and we all went to the field. We spent more than half an hour just grooming the ponies and being out in the fresh air. It was wonderful. i don't get enough time with my boys, and it was so nice to just share that time with the children.
Apollo needed his tail brushing properly, it is so long and full and the hair twists up into dreadlocks. He hasn't had enough attention to his coat lately and was looking rather raggy. Of course, at the moment the ponies are rugged up to keep them warm, and their skin gets quite flaky when they don't get enough air around them.
I put Apollo on a headcollar and tied him to a tree, as he usually wanders off while I try to groom him. As I was busy separating his tail into sections small enough to deal with, Winston strolled over to have a look at what was going on. The sun was gleaming off his chestnut coat, and in the warmth he fell asleep next to us.
It is almost magical, the fact that a huge animal like a horse is trusting and loving enough to fall asleep with us in his field, and then not even flinch when the children brush his legs.
I need more time with my fellas, I am missing spending time with them.
To top off the day, I went out for a meal with the Mums from toddler group last night. We use a particular Mexican restaurant, where the prices are reasonable and the food is delicious. I was driving, so no glasses of wine for me, which meant I could also sit back and watch everyone else getting drunk!

    Facebook

That's it, I can't hide the truth any longer. I hate Facebook. Don't get me wrong, I like keeping up with old friends, and I do get some lovely posts on there. Eileen, yours are hilarious, I don't know how you find them all.
But I am so sick of the spam! There's a couple of people on my friends list that send on everything. All the chain letters, all the urban myths, all the 'if you don't return this you're not my friend' messages.
    I just want to say:
    • There is no little girl who will get help from the Make A Wish Foundation if the message is sent on.
    • There is no-one that has been made sterile by horse tranquilisers.
    • Facebook is not being closed down.
    • Starbucks are not refusing to support troops in Iraq so don't boycott them.
    • MSN are not going to start charging for standard Hotmail accounts.
    • There are no hackers trying to join your friends list, not even with obscure screen names like 'bumtnoo'.
    • If you forward posts to everyone on your mailing list and hit F3 your secret crush will not be revealed.
    • If I don't return a post it doesn't mean I'm not your friend.
    • Facebook will not close your account if you are not active for a week.
    • And there is no-one hiding in the back of your car when you go to pay for your petrol
There are loads more examples but I usually look them up and then delete them. Honestly guys, if you get a dodgy post, or one that has bad spelling or grammer, chances are it's a load of rubbish. I get these things daily, and if it wasn't for a few friends that I can't get hold of any other way, I would shut down my account.
It's so easy to check the authenticity of a post too, just Google it!
